Resources for Open Businesses in the Portland Area

Maine is not only a beautiful looking state, but it’s also filled with beautiful people. During this unprecedented time where we are all trying to make it through, the community remains a light at the end of the tunnel. We’ve had many people reach out and buy gift cards for their family, first responders, and those working in the hospital. We’ve seen our restaurants adapt to curbside pickup and upping their sanitization efforts as well as adapting their menus to help better serve in larger quantities. We’re also seeing all kinds of resources popping up that showcase businesses that are open during the pandemic. We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a few of them.

Portland Food Map – “The definitive source for all things food in the Portland scene” is a great resource for anything and everything food in the Portland area. For the current climate, they have a big list of takeout and delivery options still available. Check them out at www.portlandfoodmap.com or give them a follow at @PortlandFoodMap on Instagram and Twitter.

Portland Curbside – A new website that sprouted up because of the current situation. www.portlandcurbside.com is updated on a daily basis of restaurants AND businesses still operating. Throw them a follow on Instagram @PortlandCurbside and Portland Curbside on Facebook!

We Are Maine Strong – https://wearemainestrong.com/ is another wonderful resource that highlights local businesses still open. They have links to retail stores, restaurants, and other services that are still up and running in the Portland area. They also make it easy to find out if the business in question has gift cards, which is another way we can show support for local businesses without leaving our homes.

These are just a few of the different sources for information. The community is always coming out with new resources, whether it be cues from our local government or new ways the people can help each other. As the third website above says in its name, #WeAreMaineStrong and we will get through this.

Stay safe and be well!
